So i use a VPN to protect my information in transit, basically without fail.
(the reason is that I have been the "victim" of identity theft multiple times)

Some sites have an issue with this for some reason, including financial institutions.. which blows my mind.
It slike, I need to expose my traffic and be MORE vulnerable to be trusted..?

For some reason, when i connect to this site through one server, i get the message that my IP has been banned.
But of course, the only IP that the site can see is the VPN server.
I presume that is an automated action based on some prior attack vector that bounced through that server..?
Its easy enough to just connect to a different server, so a ban based on the IP is not going to stop any bad actors anyway..
I just don't understand why

Doesn't matter the VPN service either, I use Windscribe and Nord and both get me the blocked message when they are turned on...

Using Tapatalk I just tested with Bitdefender VPN. Works.

Tried in a web browser. Works

Just did same test with SurfShark VPN. No issues. I had lots of issues with Nord being blacklisted previously.

Sorry to keep spamming this thread but most Financial Institutions will blacklist VPN IPs due to compliance concerns and as a risk mitigation measure.

no worries, i don't consider a conversation to be spamming a thread.
I have one VPN service that I use, and one server in particular gets blocked, but at least one other server that I use as a fall back option, does not get blocked, by this site at least.

On one hand i can see the point that financial institutions are trying to protect themselves, but their requirement that I expose my traffic's point of origin in order for them to trust me is pretty damned counter intuitive to me.
Yes VPNs can be used by bad guys, but they can also be used by smart good guys who are just trying to not suffer any further identity theft problems..
And when your personnel management office loses exclusive control of your file, all the way down to the fingerprint level, its a good idea to be cautious as all heck.

I'd much rather use multi-level, multi factor authentication (OTP etc) than have to take down my wall.
